Our speaker for the evening is Hugh Van Es – CEO of Proquanet, a startup he founded this January, and the budding author of “Hell in Paradise” soon to be published in the UK by Olympia Publishers.

Hugh emigrated with his family from his native Antwerp, to Bangkok, in 1987, and has spent nearly 4 decades in the land of smiles.

From June 2004 until last December, Hugh was the Managing Director at Swarovski Gemstones Thailand, one of the Swarovski Group’s manufacturing centers. While there, he was instrumental in implementing employee empowerment, which eventually delivered measurable contributions to the business’s bottom line.
