In today's global marketplace, companies are increasingly looking to create diverse teams and inclusive workplace cultures that drive innovation and business success. Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) professionals are uniquely positioned to help companies achieve this.

In this workshop, we will explore career development strategies and best practices for professionals looking to advance their careers in the growing field of DEI. Whether you are new to the field of DEI, looking to take your DEI career to the next level, or thinking of making a career change to DEI, this workshop will provide you with practical tools and strategies for career development and success.

The workshop will begin with an introduction to the basics of DEI, including key terms and concepts, and why they are important in the workplace. We will then dive into career development strategies, including how to develop your skills and competencies in the DEI industry.

We will explore the following topics:

The different career paths available, including DEI specialist/manager/leader, roles in human resources, DEI consulting, and ESG. Participants will learn about the qualifications and skills needed for these roles and the opportunities available for career growth and advancement.

How to gain valuable experience and build your professional repertoire as a DEI professional, including developing your profile and reputation as a thought leader and authority in this field.

Challenges that you might encounter as you work with senior leaders and middle managers to advance DEI in your organisation, and how to address these challenges.

Networking and building professional relationships in the field of DEI, including how to leverage social media and online platforms to connect with peers and industry leaders.

How to stay current and informed on the latest trends and best practices in the field of DEI.
